We understand that staying connected has become a basic need for many. Torres del Paine National Park is located in the northern part of the Magallanes and Chilean Antarctic region, specifically in the Última Esperanza province, about 1.45 hours from the city of Puerto Natales in a small commune called Torres del Paine.

You might think that, being so far from civilization, internet connection is impossible. However, thanks to technological advances, there are options to access the internet even in remote areas during your visit.

Here’s What You Need to Know:

The first thing to know is that the mobile service provider Entel has the best coverage in the region and within the park, especially in central areas like the Administration sector, Serrano, Grey, and the trekking routes on the W Circuit. In these zones, you can find 3G and even 4G signals in some cases. Movistar and Claro also offer coverage, but to a lesser extent. We recommend getting a prepaid SIM card to access the web from almost anywhere.

Enjoy the Scenery!
Remember that the main goal of your trip is to enjoy nature and the stunning views of the park. Don’t let the need to stay connected consume you. Connectivity in Torres del Paine is limited, so relish the experience of being in a remote place, disconnected from the digital world.

Internet Options:

  • Purchase a Prepaid SIM Card: You can buy a prepaid SIM card from Entel, Movistar, or Claro in Puerto Natales or Punta Arenas. These cards allow you to access the internet via mobile data.

  • Wi-Fi at Accommodations: Some refuges and hotels within the park offer free or paid Wi-Fi for their guests. The speed and availability may vary depending on location and demand.

  • Public Wi-Fi Zones: There are a few free public Wi-Fi points within the park, such as at Laguna Amarga Entrance and Hotel Lago Grey. Keep in mind that speed and availability can be affected by the number of users.

  • Mobile Devices with Data Plans: If your phone has an international data plan, you can use it to access the internet in the park. Be aware that roaming fees can be quite high.
