Between park reservations, refugios and hotels, boat crossings, transfers, border crossings, weather, hiking routes and long travel distances, there are many details to get right.
DoPatagonia brings first-hand route knowledge and local planning experience into every itinerary, from self-guided treks and guided adventures to comfort-based journeys and custom routes across Chile and Argentina.

Who is coming to Patagonia?
The trip changes depending on who is travelling. Tell us who you are and we plan around that: trekking, glacier navigations, estancias, or a program that mixes all three.
Alone is not the same as on your own
On a guided trek you walk with six travellers at most. Prefer your own pace? A self-guided program leaves you free, with the refugios, permits and transfers booked before you land and us on the other end of the phone the whole way. And it does not have to be a trek at all: there are programs built around glacier navigations, estancia days and short walks that work just as well on your own.
- Trek, tour or a mix: all work solo
- Someone local on call, before and during
“They treat you like family, which is nice when you are a solo traveler like me.”
Your route, your pace, not a coach full of strangers
We shape the itinerary around the two of you: how much walking you actually want, whether you sleep in a refugio or a hotel, and which glacier navigation, estancia day or viewpoint is worth the money. Start from any program and we adjust it, or we build the route from scratch.
- Every itinerary shaped around you
- Refugio, camp or hotel, you choose
“Everything was perfectly organized — the guides were incredibly professional and attentive at all times.”
From the youngest walker to the oldest
Not every family wants eight hours on a trail, and not everyone in the family is twenty-five. Plenty of our travellers arrive with their parents. There is a whole Patagonia that needs no trekking at all: glacier navigations, penguin colonies, estancia days with horses and lunch, the Milodón Cave, scenic drives and short walks. We mix it so grandparents and children get the same trip.
- Hotel-based, no camping needed
- Whole days with no trekking at all
“Our tour guide Claudia had excellent knowledge of the area and made us feel comfortable throughout the tours.”
One person organises, everyone else just turns up
Friends, a hiking club or a company trip. One of you talks to us and we handle the rest for the whole group: refugios or hotels, park permits, boat crossings, transfers and the timing that makes it fit together on the ground. If someone in the group would rather skip a hiking day, we give them something else to do.
- One contact for the whole group
- Refugios, permits and transfers arranged
“She made the trip perfect for us — even when a member of our group got sick, she made sure they were well taken care of.”
Patagonia is not one trip
Most people arrive thinking Patagonia means trekking. It can, and we run the classic routes. But we build multi-day programs, not single outings, and inside one of ours you might find a glacier seen from the water, a penguin colony, a day at an estancia with horses and lamb on the fire, or a morning of short walks and a long lunch. Puerto Natales, Torres del Paine, El Calafate, El Chaltén, Punta Arenas and Ushuaia: we work across all of them.
- Glacier navigations
- Penguin colonies
- The iconic treks: the W, the O Circuit, Fitz Roy
- Short walks all across Patagonia
- Estancia days and rural culture
- Flora and wildlife, at an easy pace
- Historical tours of the region
- Scenic drives and viewpoints
- Tailor-made programs, built from scratch
Any age, any pace, any mix of the above, put together into one program. Tell us what you would like to do and we will tell you how it fits together.
